Digital Arts Education -projektilla on hankkeissaan vahvasti opetuksellinen ja kasvatuksellinen lähestymistapa. Digital Arts Education järjestää työpajoja lapsille ja aikuisille sekä seminaareja ja koulutusta opettajille ja muille lasten kanssa työskenteleville aikuisille. Projekti on pyrkinyt tarjoamaan kasvattajille laajempaa mediatietämystä ja informaatiota sekä antamaan heille eväitä lasten ja nuorten omatoimiseen mediakasvattamiseen.
Lapsilla puolestaan on ollut mahdollisuus osallistua elokuvantekopajoihin, joissa he ovat voineet tuottaa, editoida, leikata, suunnitella ja viimeistellä omia elokuviaan. Elokuvatyöpajojen ohella Digital Arts Education on tarjonnut muunmuassa digikuvaus-, animaatio-, ja uutispajoja.
Digital Arts Education on promotoinut ja kehittänyt EU:n eLearning-hanketta vaikuttamo.net-nettisivun kautta. Vaikuttamo on sivusto, jossa eurooppalaiset lapset, nuoret ja aikuiset voivat tavata vaikuttamiseen ja lasten ja nuorten jokapäiväiseen elämään liittyvän keskustelun tiimoilta. Hämeenlinnan kaupungin, sekä lähikuntien koulut ovat Vaikuttamon kaltaisten web-organisaatioiden aktiivisia jäseniä.
Digital Arts Education hyödyntää eri työntekijöidensä, mediatuottajien ,-kasvattajien ja harjoittelijoiden ammattitaitoa. Yhdistämällä työntekijöidensä tiedot ja taidot opettajien, vanhempien, kouluttajien ja sosiaalityöntekijöiden ammattitaitoon projekti on luonut oman lasten kanssa työskentelevien ammattilaisten verkoston. Tästä verkostosta on muodostunut olennainen osa projektin arkea.
Mukana toiminnassa on myös useita kulttuuriverkostoja, taideinstituutioita, taiteilijoita, ammattilaisia sekä muita projekteja niin paikallisella, kansallisella kuin EU-tasolla.
Projektin ja verkoston työtuloksia arvioidaan viikoittain ARX-kulttuurikeskuksen tapaamisissa sekä projektin aktiivisten jäsenien että ARXin muiden työntekijöiden toimesta.
Digital Arts Education is a multinational, cultural and educational E-learning project.
The project organises workshops for both children and adults, seminars and other educational events for educators, teachers and other adults working with children. Digital Arts Education has aimed to provide adults working with children a large variety of media skills and information and making it possible for them to educate the children and young people under their care and guidance.
Funded by European Commission’s E-Learning programme, Digital Arts
Education includes partners in Finland (ARX Arts Centre in Hämeenlinna)
and Union member states of the UK (Wheelworks in Belfast) and Estonia
(Kinobuss in Tallinn). The project has also been very active in providing
tools and know-how to parents, educators and other professionals which
in turn has helped them to reach children and young people more efficiently.
An important part of the project have been different workshops for both
children and adults increasing their skills in understanding and interpreting
the modern media; digital literacy.
During the project children have been able to take part in movie making
workshops where they have made, edited, cut, designed and finished of
movies of their passion. In addition, the workshops in digital photography,
visual arts, animation and newscasts have been very successful.
The project has been promoting and advancing eLearning through the www.vaikuttamo.net
website. Digital Arts Education has also built Digital Arts Showroom,
which internationally introduces the works made during the project. The
E-Learning methods used during the project are available on the Digital
Arts Education website as well as on the project DVD.
The project has used the professional skills of its different employees; media producers, media educators and trainees. By combining the skills and knowledge of its employees with the skills of teachers, parents, educators and social workers the project has created its very own network of professionals and adults working with children. This network has become an integral part of the everyday life of the project. There are also several networks of culture and arts institutions, artists, professionals and other projects in local, national and the European level.
